New Beginning

Ok so I did it. I made a new blog.

Check it baby!
I won't be posting on here anymore...a new chapter in my life calls for a new blog.
It's not longer all about "me"....not like it was to begin with, but now it's just official.
Adios Blog #1. You've been good to me!
Cheers to a new beginning.

Whoooooeeeee....what a whirlwind of a three weeks that was.
I've been here, and there, and everywhere. I sleep at night sometimes and then wake up and do it all again.
A little stressful and a little fun mixed in there too.
Ok a lot of fun.
Like wedding dress shopping.

I look like I'm having fun, right?
After at least 50 dresses on and off then on again...well, needless to say it was a harder decision than I thought. I could feel the inner bridezilla trying to creep out...and then I realized that it really doesn't matter what I'm wearing on my wedding day (should I just show up naked?) just as long it's to the right person in the right place by the right authority. I'm so happy....the dress is just a sidenote.
And no, that's not the dress I chose....my face gives that one away...
I want to blog about our trips and adventures but another adventure is coming so fast (Houston this weekend for a wedding) so that's gunna have to wait.
I've missed this bloggy land...I feel a weeeeee bit rusty, forgive me.

Bling on the Fing

Well, I know I said I might not post for a while because of our trips/moving, etc...but I think this cause is good reason to post because, well, we got engaged last night! [shocker, I know!]

It all started when he got out of his car with a rose in his hand... Ry doesn't just bring me flowers...so I started to get a hunch.
We had an appointment to take engagement pictures with a lady I go to church with. She's a photographer and offered to take our engagements for free (soo nice of her!) and since we're both leaving for school this week, last night was kind of our last night to do it. I was for sure we'd be engaged by then, but we weren't....and yesterday rolled around and I was wanting to cancel the whole session because WHO TAKES ENGAGEMENT PICTURES WITHOUT BEING ENGAGED?
I tried to back out but Ryan insisted that we go ahead because it was "such a nice favor for her to do for us" and "we should take advantage of it since it's free!" so reluctantly, I went.
We met up with our photographer and we sat down on a bench while she set up. Then Ryan pulled out this ring box and my heart started to pound, but inside there was his great grandma's ring he brought for me to wear during the session so I wouldn't feel so dumb. I was grateful and thought that would be a cute touch, so I start to put it on...but then I looked up and saw Ry getting down on one knee, pulling out the real mcdeal. I was floored! I kept saying, "shutup! SHUTUP!" and then I said, "So, are you gunna ask me?"
He finally spit out the words, "Ok, Will you marry me?" and I answered with a few hundred kisses.
And the best part? Our photographer was there to capture the whole thing!
Needless to say, I'm a happy grateful blessed girl who gets to marry her BFF and I'm so excited to say that it's official!

I had to do the obnoxious and bratty ring pose...sorry...

The ring is just perfect...modernly vintage...or vintagely modern? Either way I love it. We picked it out at a jewelry store here in KC called Meierotto's (HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend it! We spent hours in there searching through thousands and thousands of ring sets...and we got this ring for half the price as other stores!)
But all the hub bub aside, marriage is going to be the biggest blessing in our lives. It's been such a crazy long road for us but to finally see how it's all come together to bless our lives in this way is nothing short of a miracle. I guess this is a testimony to me that "things have a way of working themselves out."
But personally, this is better than just "working out."

I love to see the temple

Thursday a bunch of us hopped into Joey's parents' suburban at 5:00am and made a day trip to Nauvoo, Illinois [a prominent place in LDS Church History].

The weather was beautiful, the company was fun, and the temple was, as always, awesome...especially being there with the dude. We were the "ma and pa" of the trip and took real good care of our chil'ren.
Can't believe summer is ending...we're off to Utah/St George/Vegas/LA/San Diego next week. It's gunna be a crazy trip filled with:
-Camille's wedding (I'm a bridesmaid!)
-The Price is Right
-Visiting family
-Visiting Ryan's mission and visiting all the people he loves down there. It's his favorite place in the world and I'm excited to be able to go back with him....on that note I better stop eating these m&m's and go workout.
We don't want the people of San Diego to be thinking Elder Lawter scored a fattie, now do we?
Until next time...which might be a while...
XOXO

I found this today on pinterest. [which I'm obsessed with bytheway]
and it made me think about how I treat others-whether they add to my life or not.
Everyone has worth & deserves to be treated as such.
There's my 2 cents for the day.

M.I.A

Sorry I have been so horrible at blogging lately...life has taken off and swept me off my feet.
Or maybe that's just my tall glass of water.
Either way, exciting things are goin down and I've never been happier.
I bet you can't guess why...

A new chapter in my life is about to start. I am SO ready.
[No this isn't an official announcement so don't get too excited]
I think a new chapter is call for a new blog. Anybody want to help me set it up? Or know of anyone good to help with blog design?
I promise I'll get better at blogging.
But I have a cold and my NyQuil is kicking in so tonight is not the night.

XOXO

I love love

Sorry my blog has been super boring lately...I've been hesitant to write anything because the only thing on my brain is this:
I LOVE MY TALL GLASS OF WATER...in all caps.
Although to be honest, I have been super busy with other stuff too like....working for my mom, starting the hardest online class of my life, and making "plans".
One thing I love about Ryan and I is that we aren't perfect. There have been "things" come up and issues to deal with, nothing major of course, but I think that's why I love our relationship. It's not perfect and it's not necessarily always easy. But it's full of love. That's the funny thing about love I've learned..is that it usually grows the most after you work through a problem, or make a big decision together. That's when love is fortified and tested. I love that about love. If you want to have it abundantly in your life, you have to work for it.

That's all I got for tonight. I'm boring.
XOXO
